The blade is an ultra sharp 1060 Carbon Steel traditional katana edge with Full Tang set into a double-pegged handle covered with real black-stained ray skin and then wrapped and tied Samurai style with black nylon cord. Rectangular guard is bright silver stamped with Asian dragon forms. This is offset by the gold-tone seppa followed by the Bushido Code etched into the blade. The three kanji here are the Loyalty, Courage, and Rectitude portion of the bishido's seven virtues, and match the characters on the stand, scabbard and sword bag. The blade is 27 inches long with an overall length of the sword being over 40 inches. Edge is very sharp, with visible hamon running the length.
